On Friday, June 22, 2018 Brad Allen, a biologist with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will present “The History of Maine Eiders and Islands in Art– 170 years (or so) of Research.” Brad Allen is a life-long Mainer, leaving only to earn his Master’s at the University of Montana in 1985. He has been employed by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife for nearly 40 years and currently leads and directs the Bird Group within the Wildlife Research and Assessment Section. As such, he supervises 5 wildlife biologists in all facets of state-wide bird conservation and management. He collaborates with a wide variety of partners and is currently involved with a Common Eider duckling survival study in southern Maine and a central Maine Wild Turkey population study. This presentation is free and will be held in Moore Auditorium on the Institute campus. No registration is required.
